THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FLAG BEARER (N Klink) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, ROYAL MAZARIN (K de Melo) was bumped in by FLAG BEARER (N Klink) which jumped awkwardly inwards leaving the stalls. Thereafter FLAG BEARER commenced to over-race and as a consequence, raced wide around the turn. b) In the concluding stages, FLYING FIRST CLASS (C Habib) which shifted in away from the crop, was steadied to avoid the heels of ARLINGTON ACTION (R Munger). c) Jockey K de Melo reported that ROYAL MAZARIN made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this horse. d) An Inquiry will be opened into Jockey S Khumalo's use of the crop whilst riding WHITE FANG. e) ARLINGTON ACTION (R Munger), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer T Zackey advised (AH). f) WHITE FANG (S Khumalo), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A Azzie advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None.
