THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FIND ME UNAFRAID (L Mxothwa) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey JP van der Merwe reported that ANCIENT TIMES, which raced wide without cover throughout and was hanging in in the straight, did not stride out freely in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. b) In view of the performance of MASTER SUPREME (C Habib), which was not persevered with from the 400m and finished tailed off, the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Trainer GD Smith was advised that this gelding's last three performances were sub-standard and that should this gelding continue to perform poorly in future engagements, the Stewards may consider imposing a suspension. c) Jockey S Khumalo (SABINA'S PRODIGY) dropped his crop at the 150m. d) FIND ME UNAFRAID, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith was advised.
