THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) RED IMPACT (L Mxothwa) took an awkward stride shortly after the start. b) BONANZA (R Fourie) threw its head up shortly after the start and thereafter was slow into stride. c) WORDSWORTH (*J Solomons) was hanging in in the straight. d) Jockey C Orffer reported that he felt something amiss with CHILLY WINTER and he did not persevere with his riding from the 150m. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this mare. e) CHILLY WINTER (C Orffer) returned suffering from a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended, for a period of 120 days, from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1.
