THE STARTER REPORTED: a) AUNT LIBERTY (J Mphanya) was nervous in the stalls and jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Into the first turn at the 1200m LADY SHEEVA (*K Strydom) commenced to over race, rolled out slightly and clipped the heels of BAVARIAN JET (JP van der Merwe). This resulted in LADY SHEEVA (*K Strydom) stumbling, becoming severely unbalanced and dislodging Apprentice K Strydom. AUNT LIBERTY (J Mphanya), which was hanging out on the early part of the bend and CLAREGARI (Y Ramzan), which had to be steadied to avoid the fallen rider, were inconvenienced as a consequence. As a result of this incident the Stewards, acting in terms of Rule 62.2, were satisfied that Apprentice K Strydom had carried the correct weight and allowed the all clear to be given. b) Jockey M Mjoka reported that ELUSIVE JEWEL made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) HEY SIRI, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer JP Nel was advised. (LM) JOCKEY AND/OR EQUIPMENT CHANGES: a) POLLY FLINDERS (S Khumalo) raced in club colours - Stipes permission RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER a) Nil THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) ELUSIVE JEWEL - examined post-race. Abnormal respiratory noise; choked up b) LADY SHEEVA - lame right front. Veterinary certificate required prior to acceptance. Rule 49.7 applies. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
