THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The start of this race was delayed due to the delay in the previous race. b) Jockey K de Melo reported that TOUGH TERRAIN did not stride out freely in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) Jockey S Khumalo reported that DAVE THE KING felt uncomfortable in its action and he eased this colt out of the race from the 400m. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine. d) CHARLES DICKENS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Bass-Robinson was advised.
