THE STARTER REPORTED: a) RISE (T Godden) was stubborn to load and thereafter, jumped awkwardly. b) DUQUESNE WHISTLE (M Mjoka) was stubborn to load. Trainer L Crawford will be advised to re-school this mare. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Entering the final straight, IRON CHEF (A Arries) was steadied and switched in off the heels of AMBERGLO STAR (S Khumalo) which rolled out. b) Approaching the 300m, IRON CHEF (A Arries) was steadied momentarily when awkwardly placed on the heels of FEELING GROOVY (*G Pieterse) which rolled out marginally. Thereafter, this mare was switched in to obtain a clear run and finished its race off strongly. c) Jockey T Godden reported that he felt something amiss with RISE in the running. The Veterinary surgeon was requested to examine. d) IRON CHEF (A Arries), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M N Prinsloo advised (NS). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) DUQUESNE WHISTLE raced with alumites in front, unshod behind (advised 22.09.22/13h34). Jockey M Mjoka weighed out at 53.8kg, 0.5kg over the carded weight.
