THE STARTER REPORTED: a) KIND OF BLUE (M Mjoka) was stubborn loading. b) BEGONIA (R Munger) was nervous in the stalls. c) MAKE A DEAL (W Agrella) jumped slow, losing two lengths d) MIA CALICE (Y Ramzan), GLITTERFOX (M Yeni) and KOMMETJIE (JP van der Merwe) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Approaching the 50m KIND OF BLUE (M Mjoka) rolled out away from the crop and brushed BEGONIA (R Munger). b) Jockey M Yeni reported that GLITTERFOX did not stride out freely in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) When questioned regarding the improved performance of BEGONIA (R Munger) compared to this filly's previous finish on 16 September 2022 in a Work Rider's race, Trainer JVA Strydom could offer no suitable explanation for the improved performance of BEGONIA (R Munger). His attention was drawn to the Rules pertaining to in and out running. d) BEGONIA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer JVA Strydom was advised.
