THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GODDEX APHAEA (O Noach) was troublesome loading, reared and had to be hooded, causing a delay. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The Clerk of Scales was unable to capture the weight at which the Jockey's weighed out electronically. The Jockeys were weighed out manually in the presence of a Stipendiary Steward. This has been reported to the duty manager. b) During the loading process, the Starter noted that there was a technical fault with the starting stalls. A manual start was effected, causing a delay. This was reported to the duty manager. c) From a wide draw SPARKLING CRYSTAL (S Cele) was ridden forward and, as a consequence, raced wide without cover until leaving the 1000m. d) DEFINING MOMENT (G Wright) was hanging out throughout. e) DAISY DUKE (G van Niekerk) was hanging out in the straight and proved difficult to assist in the latter stages. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. f) In view of the report from the starter regarding GODDEX APHAEA (O Noach), this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn for 7 days and she is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 02/10/2022 to 08/10/2022 inclusive). GODDEX APHAEA may not be presented for re-passing during this period. g) TURN THE PAGE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised.
