THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MAY QUEEN (J Greyling), DESERT MIRACLE (S Khumalo), SUPREME QUEST (C Zackey) and MERCURY RISING (R Simons) were slow losing one length THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) DESERT MIRACLE (S Khumalo) shifted out away from the crop from the 300m. When questioned regarding his ride on DESERT MIRACLE, Jockey Khumalo explained to the Board that following a long rest and from a wide draw, he had elected to drop this filly out. In the straight, he had allowed her to move up in his hands and then finish the race off strongly over the last 200m. Jockey Khumalo's version was corroborated by the patrol film. b) Jockey C Habib reported that he felt something amiss with BIG BURN in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) HUMDINGER (J P van der Merwe), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M F de Kock advised (AH). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) MAY QUEEN raced fitted with a compression mask on (declared 27 September 2022 at 11H10). b) DESERT MIRACLE raced with a tongue tie on (declared 28 September 2022 at 10H39). c) SUPREME QUEST raced fitted with a compression mask on (declared 27 September 2022 at 08H34). d) HUMDINGER: International Racing Club (Nom: J da Mata), Messrs M F de Kock & K Nagendran.
