THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) LET'S NOT LINGER (*G Pieterse) was hanging out and proved difficult to assist in the early stages. b) When questioned regarding the poor performance of SHAPE OF YOU, Jockey A Mgudlwa explained that when he entered the home straight, this mare had dropped its head significantly in running and refused to raise a gallop. Thereafter, Jockey A Mgudlwa reported that he felt something amiss with SHAPE OF YOU in the running and as a result he did not persevere with his ride from the 400m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Trainer G van Zyl (Jnr) will be requested to report back to the Stipendiary Board on the condition of this mare on return to stables. c) In view of the performance of CHANTY LANE (R Fourie) (11.80 lengths, 8/1 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
