THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ROYAL WATCH (S Cele) and PIROSHKA (C Orffer) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Leaving the 800m PIROSHKA (C Orffer) raced onto the heels of BRIGHT GREEN (G Behr) and had to be steadied. b) At the 100m PATH OF CHOICE (J Jacobs) briefly dropped his right side rein and then had to be steadied away from the heels of RUNAWAY SONG when Jockey R Fourie hesitated with his riding when close to the heels of TOUT A FAIT (G van Niekerk), which was hanging out and shifted out slightly. c) At the finish PIROSHKA (C Orffer) was steadied when racing in restricted galloping room between TOUT A FAIT (G van Niekerk) and PORT LOUIS (L Mxothwa), which initially rolled out, brushed SILVANO'S DASHER (K de Melo) and then rolled in. d) SILVANO'S DASHER, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer B Donnelly, acting on behalf of Trainer B Crawford, was advised.
