THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) LOOK FORWARD (*J Solomons) stood as the start was effected, losing three lengths.
b) HOLTASOLEY (G Wright) dropped its head down as the start was effected and jumped slow, losing four lengths.
c) DIAMOND ROCKSTAR (S Mbhele) threw its head up as the start was effected, jumped slow, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) CRIMSON WINGS (C Orffer), which raced green, was hanging in in the straight.
b) In the concluding stages SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL (R Fourie) had to be steadied when awkwardly placed between WHY NOT JACKIE (C Zackey) and HEAD GIRL (G van Niekerk), which shifted out away from PRICELESS (L Mxothwa), which raced green and shifted out at the finish.
c) Jockey C Zackey reported that WHY NOT JACKIE made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
d) NAMIBIAN QUEEN (C Habib) was reluctant to proceed to the start and had to be assisted by a handler, causing a delay. This filly is suspended indefinitely in terms of Rule 93.2.4 until such time as she proves tractable proceeding to the start on a race day.
e) In view of the report from the Starter regarding HOLTASOLEY (G Wright), Trainer C Bass-Robinson will be advised to have this filly re-schooled before her next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10.
f) In view of the report from the Starter regarding LOOK FORWARD (*J Solomons), Trainer JMT Stewart will be advised to have this filly re-schooled before her next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10.
g) PRICELESS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer B Crawford was advised. (TJ)
