THE STARTER REPORTED: a) WHISPERING GREEN (S Moodley) lost one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) SALIENT POINT (*S Hlengwa) was hanging in from the 300m. b) At approximately the 200m, ADELANTE (M Yeni) was carried out by SING FOR WINTER (K de Melo) which shifted out away from the crop and was immediately straightened. c) In the concluding stages, MAITH AN CAILIN (C Habib) was steadied in anticipation of being awkwardly placed on the heels of WHISPERING GREEN (S Moodley) and TWO MINDS (R Khathi). d) Jockey S Moodley signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction M, in that he mis-used his crop by striking the horse WHISPERING GREEN more than 12 times in the entire race. In assessing penalty, the Board considered the number of times (13) Jockey S Moodley struck the horse WHISPERING GREEN, the distance over which and manner in which he used his crop and his record (3) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R1500 was imposed. e) SING FOR WINTER (K de Melo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer O Mhlamvu acting on behalf of Trainer G H van Zyl advised (NS). f) SALIENT POINT (*S Hlengwa), placed fourth, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
