THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) At approximately the 100m, WINTER FLIGHT (K Matsunyane) attempted to savage FORMAGEAR (T Godden) while racing in close proximity. As a consequence of this incident, Jockey T Godden pushed WINTER FLIGHT's head away from his mount. Whilst the Stewards accepted that WINTER FLIGHT (K Matsunyane) does not have a history of trying to savage other horses, the incident was nevertheless brought to the attention of Trainer K Naidoo. b) In the concluding stages, PRAY FOR RAIN (M Yeni) which had shown a tendency to hang out, was corrected and subsequently shifted in and had to be steadied to avoid the heels of ISHNANA (*M Katjedi). c) ISHNANA (*M Katjedi), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
