THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GOLIGHTLY (X Ndlovu) reared as the start was effected and jumped slow, losing two lengths. b) DAME OF FLAMES (S Khumalo) jumped slow, losing one length. c) PHOENIX (G van Niekerk) was slow into stride. d) FROMHERETOETERNITY (K Matsunyane) and IRISH WILLOW (Y Ramzan) made contact leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The Stewards reviewed the start of this race with regards to GOLIGHTLY (X Ndlovu) in stall gate 11 and established that this mare had lifted her front legs off the ground as the start was effected and, as a consequence, had lost ground. The Stewards considered that any prejudice suffered by GOLIGHTLY (X Ndlovu) was as a result of her own behaviour in the stalls and, as the Handler had not impeded this mare, declared her to be a runner. b) PAM'S PRINCESS (C Maujean) raced wide without cover throughout. c) AND WE DANCED, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SB Kotzen was advised.
