THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FAR AWAY WINTER (D de Gouveia) was slow into stride. b) GALLIC CHIEF (K Matsunyane) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) GODSWOOD (C Habib) commenced to hang in from the 350m and raced with an awkward head carriage to the end of the race. b) NOW I GOT YOU (M Yeni) which hung in from the 300m, proved difficult to ride out in the concluding stages. c) BELLA CHICA (R Munger) hung in from the 200m. d) GALLIC CHIEF (K Matsunyane) hung in in the concluding stages. e) Jockey M van Rensburg reported that KWITE A TRIP made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. f) Jockey K de Melo (QUANTUM KING) and Jockey D de Gouveia (FAR AWAY WINTER) reported that they felt something amiss with their respective mounts in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these horses. g) SHEELA (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A Azzie advised (AH). h) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning DANILO DANILOVITCH, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended from racing for a period of sixty days in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority.
