THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ELECTRIC SURGE (*M K Katjedi) was stubborn to load. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Shortly after the start, ISLA MORADA (*M K Katjedi) and MEL'S PRINCESS (S Moodley) came together and brushed. b) Apprentice M Katjedi reported that the bit pulled through the mouth of ELECTRIC SURGE in the running. c) Jockey M Yeni reported that he felt something amiss with ISLA MORADA in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) Jockey K de Melo signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 66.4, in that as the rider of FASHIONIGMA he weighed in more than 1kg above the weight at which he was declared out. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R1000 was imposed. e) ELECTRIC SURGE (*M K Katjedi), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer R A Hill advised (NS).
