THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Leaving the 400m, FREEDOM DANCER (J Penny) took an awkward stride and shifted inwards sharply. Thereafter Jockey Penny did not persevere with his riding and eased this gelding out of the race from the 300m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. b) Leaving the 200m, BRIDGE OF SPIES (M Thackeray) was steadied momentarily when awkwardly placed between BACK TO BASICS (N Klink) and STORMY SEAS (R Danielson) which improved into a run on the outside of DANCING DORA (C Maujean). c) After racing prominently throughout, CLEAN LIVING (M Yeni) tired badly in the concluding stages, thereafter Jockey Yeni reported that he felt something amiss with this filly in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Trainer C Spies was requested to report back to the Board on the condition of this filly on return to stables. d) DANCING DORA (C Maujean), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F Bronkhorst advised (MdP). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) FREEDOM DANCER examined post race, nothing obvious detected. b) CLEAN LIVING examined post race, nothing obvious detected.
