THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ONNETILIA (S Khumalo) was fractious in the stalls, threw its head down, was taken out, examined by the course veterinary surgeon and withdrawn, causing a delay. b) BAVARIAN JET (M Mjoka) kicked the back gates of the starting stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In view of the performance of BAVARIAN JET (M Mjoka), which gave ground to the field from the 500m, the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. b) In view of the report from the Starter regarding ONNETILIA (S Khumalo), Trainer GD Smith will be advised to have this filly re-schooled before her next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. c) After the running of this race, Jockey S Khumalo was stood down by the course medical officer. Rule 25.12 applied. d) Jockey R Danielson was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.10 in that, whilst riding the horse PEACH DAIQUIRI, he saluted in a celebratory gesture prior to the finish line. Jockey R Danielson signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000,00 e) PEACH DAIQUIRI, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SB Kotzen was advised.
