THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TUFAAN (J Mphanya) was nervous in the stalls. b) RED CENTRE (JP van der Merwe) was stubborn loading and jumped slow, losing two lengths. c) RUNNINGFORTHESTARS (R Munger), WEEKEND IN SEATTLE (M Yeni) and KOMMETJIE (X Ndlovu) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) RUNNINGFORTHESTARS (R Munger) raced green on the bend. b) Jockey JP van der Merwe reported that RED CENTRE, which progressively gave ground to the field from the 800m and was not persevered with in the straight, did not stride out freely in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) EMILY'S SPIRIT, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised.
