THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) ICE ANGEL (*R Venniker) was stubborn to load.
b) STORMZ POWER (T Godden) lost one length.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a) A TIME TO DANCE (*M Katjedi) raced detached from the field in the early and middle stages.
b) I LIKE IT HOT (S Veale) and TABATHA CAT (M Yeni) came together and brushed on 2 occasions between the 450m and the 400m.
c) Jockey C Habib reported that he felt something amiss with MIA SOPHIA from the 300m and as a result, eased his mount out of the race. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
d) At the 300m, A TIME TO DANCE (*M Katjedi) shifted in sharply to avoid MIA SOPHIA (C Habib) which had been eased out of the race.
e) At the 250m, TABATHA CAT (M Yeni) was brushed in by VARIETY FAIR (R Fourie) which was hanging in, in the straight.
f) Apprentice R Venniker reported that ICE ANGEL took no interest in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Trainer M Roberts was requested to report back to the Stipendiary Board on the condition of this filly on return to stables.
g) In view of the Starter's report with regard to ICE ANGEL, this filly's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and it is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 14.11.22 to the 20.11.252. ICE ANGEL may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer M Roberts was advised. (SN)
h) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning MIA SOPHIA, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this filly is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer W Whitehead was advised. (14.11.22 - 12.01.23, bdi)
i) Trainer N Kotzen signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 39.7.5 in that he failed to vaccinate TABATHA CAT against Equine Influenza in accordance with the programme of vaccination as published from time to time in the Racing Calendar. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R1000 was imposed.
j) I LIKE IT HOT (S Veale), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer S Ferrie acting on behalf of Trainer D Drier advised (HM).
