THE STARTER REPORTED: a) VERONICA MARS (S Veale) jumped awkwardly, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At the 150m WHOA WHOA WHOA (AUS) (L Mxothwa) and DISTINCTION (K de Melo) brushed when both horses shifted ground marginally. Thereafter, leaving the 50m, WHOA WHOA WHOA (AUS) (L Mxothwa) was straightened after being carried inwards by DISTINCTION (K de Melo) and then was bumped inwards by DISTINCTION (K de Melo) in the closing stages. A member of the Stipendiary Board called for a race review regarding this incident which was followed by an Objection being lodged by Trainer B Crawford, the Trainer of the 2nd placed horse WHOA WHOA WHOA (AUS) (L Mxothwa) against the winner DISTINCTION (K de Melo) on the grounds of interference in the latter stages. The Objection Board, after giving due regard to the evidence put forward, reviewing the patrol films and giving consideration of the margin of 0,05 of a length between the two horses concerned, was of the opinion that but for the interference WHOA WHOA WHOA (AUS) (L Mxothwa) would have finished ahead of DISTINCTION (K de Melo) had this incident not occurred and therefore upheld the Objection. b) DISTINCTION, placed second on objection, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised.
