THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Leaving the 150m, TRIPTOROYALTY (*R Venniker) was eased and switched out off the heels of CAPRIANA (*M Katjedi) which was hanging in and shifted in. Apprentice M Katjedi signed and admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 62.2.7, in that as the rider of CAPRIANA, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to TRIPTOROYALTY (*R Venniker) at approximately the 150m. Accordingly, a suspension from riding in races for a period of 7 days was imposed. (Suspension Dates : 26.11.22 - 02.12.22, bdi) b) Jockey R Fourie reported that he felt something amiss with WHAT A BLIZZARD in the concluding stages and as a result he did not persevere with his ride. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) In view of the performance of BADRAH (AUS) (T Gumede) (10.75 lengths, 7/2 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) Apprentice M Katjedi signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he mis-used his crop by striking the horse CAPRIANA more than 12 times in the entire race. In assessing penalty, the Board considered the number of times (16) Apprentice M Katjedi struck the horse CAPRIANA, the distance over which and manner in which he used his crop and his record (0) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R2000 was imposed. e) CAPRIANA (*M Katjedi), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Hewitson advised (NS). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) BADRAH (AUS) raced equipped with blinkers (advised 21.11.22/7h37). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) WHAT A BLIZZARD : Abnormal respiratory noise. b) BADRAH (AUS) : Nothing obvious detected. c) TRIPTOROYALTY : Not striding out right front.
