THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MIDNIGHT GEM (G Lerena) refused to load. The starting stall certificate for this mare has been withdrawn. Trainer P P Labuschagne was advised (PHvdW). b) GOLDEN SPOON (*S Sosibo) threw its head down as the start was effected resulting in this mare losing two lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) PRINCESS PHILIPPA (R Simons) took an awkward stride at the 1150m. b) In the concluding stages, PRINCESS PHILIPPA (R Simons) and HOLLYWOODBOUND (*G Pieterse), which shifted in away from the crop, came together and bumped. c) In view of the Starter's report with regard to MIDNIGHT GEM, this mare's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as she proves tractable loading with a companion. Suspension dates: 23 November 2022 to 29 November 2022. MIDNIGHT GEM may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer P P Labuschagne was advised. d) PRINCESS PHILIPPA (R Simons), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer N Titise, acting on behalf of Trainer S T Pettigrew, was advised (RS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None.
