THE STARTER REPORTED: a) EPSOM GIRL jumped awkwardly, which unbalanced Jockey D Ashby, lost two lengths and thereafter was slow into stride. b) GIMMEAFIRST (K de Melo) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At the 100m PRICELESS (K Matsunyane) was directed outwards to secure clear running. b) After being slow to begin EPSOM GIRL (D Ashby) raced at the back of the field, gave ground to the field from the 500m and thereafter was not persevered with. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) In view of the performance of PRICELESS (K Matsunyane) (Betting 4/1 ; Distance 3.60) the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) BONIKA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
