THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) After being slow to begin, SHINING ARMOUR (Y Ramzan) raced with its head up and proved difficult to settle in the early stages. b) In view of the report from the starter regarding SHINING ARMOUR (Y Ramzan), this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 26/11/2022 to 02/12/2022 inclusive). SHINING ARMOUR may not be presented for re-passing during this period. c) Trainer GD Smith was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.1.1, in that he declared Jockey JP van der Merwe to ride SHINING ARMOUR without having obtained his prior consent. Trainer GD Smith signed an admission of guilt and was given the penalty of a warning. d) Trainer TJ Laing was charged with a contravention of Rule 59.5.1, in that she failed to declare the overweight to be carried by ZAMBAQ at the time of final declarations.
