NEXT FAIRVIEW RACEMEETING FRIDAY 2 DECEMBER FM 70 HANDICAP (F & M) (Fillies and Mares)

THE STARTER REPORTED: a) During the loading process the Starter established that LIBRAN LANA (S Khathi) had been incorrectly loaded into stall gate 10. LIBRAN LANA (S Khathi) had to be unloaded and reloaded into its correct stall, causing a delay. b) ONE BITE AT A TIME (C Maujean) was stubborn loading. c) LIBRAN LANA (S Khathi) jumped slow, losing one length. d) ANCESTRAL PRAYER (R Fourie) and IQEMBULABESIFAZANE (JP van der Merwe) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) When questioned regarding his riding of HOLLY'S VIEW Jockey T Gould told the Stewards that this filly had shown a tendency to hang in throughout the race and had raced in snatches and that he had had to straighten HOLLY'S VIEW on a number of occasions on the bend to allow room for IQEMBULABESIFAZANE (JP van der Merwe) and ANCESTRAL PRAYER (R Fourie), which were racing on his inside. Thereafter, in the straight, the filly had shown limited response to his urgings. He further told the Stewards that he would be advising Mr A Greeff that, in his opinion, this filly may benefit from the use of blinkers in future starts. Jockey T Gould's explanation was noted. b) Jockey R Fourie reported that ANCESTRAL PRAYER made an abnormal respiratory noise in running and he did not persevere with his riding from the 200m. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this mare. c) Jockey M Mjoka reported that SING GIRL SING did not stride out freely in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Jockey JP van der Merwe reported that IQEMBULABESIFAZANE took no interest in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) ROSE OF BAYEUX, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer DA McKenzie was advised. (LM).
