MANITOBA pulled its left front shoe en route to the start, which was attended to by the farrier. This caused a delay to the start of this Race. NORDIC REBEL was slow, losing 1 length. GREENWOOD DRIVE raced to the front and compounded from the 400m. FINCHATTON was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. When afforded the opportunity to explain the poor performance of FINCHATTON on 11 July 2019, Trainer Terzi explained to the Board that he had equipped this gelding in blinkers for this run, that it had been far too keen with the addition of this equipment and had subsequently tired badly in the concluding stages. He removed the blinkers for today's run which, in his opinion, had accounted for the improvement. Trainer Terzi has undertaken to race FINCHATTON without blinkers in future. Scratched: FIRE AND RESCUE - not striding out left hind.
