THE STARTER REPORTED: a) UNZEN (M Yeni) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) UNZEN (M Yeni) over-raced in the early and middle stages. b) SHOEMAKER (R Fourie) took an awkward stride at the 1500m. c) UNION SQUARE (R Simons) hung out from the 300m to the 150m. d) Jockey M van Rensburg the rider PROPHET accidentally dropped his crop at the 200m. e) Jockey M Yeni the rider of UNZEN, appeared before the Board and was advised against the practice of using his crop on a horse which is out of contention for a place. f) UNION SQUARE (R Simons), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
