The start of this race was delayed due to Apprentice Zuma, the rider of FLAMES ARE FLYING, having the incorrect colours on. Club colours were sent to the start and the loading process commenced. TIDDLYWINKS was stubborn loading. PRINCESS TOREADOR was slow losing one length. Shortly after the start, ALL ABOUT SOPHIA was squeezed out when awkwardly placed between TIDDLYWINKS, which jumped in, and ATWAAR, which jumped outwards. In view of the performance of ALL ABOUT SOPHIA, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. ATWAAR raced green. Apprentice Zuma rode a satisfactory qualifying ride. At approximately the 100m, GREAT GLORY shifted out away from the crop. Simultaneously TIDDLYWINKS rolled inwards. Both Apprentice Dicken and Jockey van Rensburg straightened their respective mounts to avoid making contact with each other. WHY LEIGH was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. FOURSIXSIXFOUR raced equipped with alumites in front and unshod behind. PRINCESS TOREADOR raced equipped with alumites. PRINCESS TOREADOR, FLAMES ARE FLYING and ALL ABOUT SOPHIA raced with club colours. GREAT GLORY raced equipped with alumites in front and unshod behind. Vet: ALL ABOUT SOPHIA - not striding out right front. Scratched: MY FRIEND - retired. TAC IT TWICE - lame left front.
