THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DOUBLE ESPRESSO (*S Hlengwa) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Approaching the 1800m, DOUBLE ESPRESSO (* S Hlengwa) took an awkward stride when momentarily inconvenienced between DIAMONDS N DOLLARS (M Yeni) and the inside running rail. b) At the 250m, OH MY WORD ITS ROY (T Gumede) had to ease when awkwardly placed on the heels of WINTER ROYALE (R Khathi) which shifted in. Jockey R Khathi signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of WINTER ROYALE he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to OH MY WORD ITS ROY (T Gumede). Accordingly a penalty of a suspension from riding in races for a period of 7 days was imposed (suspension dates to be advised). c) Jockey K Matsunyane, reported that A THOUSAND TUNES did not stride out freely in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) Jockey M Yeni reported that he felt something amiss with DIAMONDS N DOLLARS in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) PIRATE PRINCE (K de Melo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A Wright advised (NS). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) DIAMONDS N DOLLARS raced without blinkers (advised 28.11.22/07h47). b) Jockey T Gumede (OH MY WORD ITS ROY) weighed out at 53.2kg, 0.5 over the carded weight of 52.5kg.
