THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MIDNIGHT VERDICT (R Simons) was restless in the stalls. b) VAR PARK (*K A Brewer) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. c) SIBERIAN STEEL (G Lerena) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. d) STALKER (M Khan) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. e) MIDNIGHT VERDICT (R Simons) was slow losing one length. f) KAIZEN WAY (*P Mxoli) and TOGETHER AGAIN (C Maujean) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Apprentice S Sosibo (WILLIAMSON) briefly lost his footing to the left-side stirrup iron. Thereafter, Apprentice S Sosibo reported that WILLIAMSON did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. b) DONTSHOOTTHEBARMAN (C Habib) proved difficult to settle in the early stages. c) SIBERIAN STEEL (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. d) TRE AMICI (M Yeni), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
