THE STARTER REPORTED: a) WESTERN JACK (M Yeni) was nervous in the stalls. b) SO DACHA (X Ndlovu) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) DANI BOI dislodged Jockey D Ashby while leaving the parade ring and again while proceeding to the start. DANI BOI (D Ashby) was examined by the course veterinary surgeon and withdrawn. Trainer M Turner was advised that should this colt behave in a similar manner in future engagements, it may be suspended. b) In view of the performance of FEDERAL RESERVE (L Mxothwa) (Betting 72/100 ; Distance 3.80), which had to be encouraged to maintain its position from the 700m, the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) Jockey X Ndlovu reported that SO DACHA made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) MR BODACIOUS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith was advised.
