THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DEFINING MOMENT (G Wright) refused to load and was withdrawn, causing a delay. b) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) DEFINING MOMENT (G Wright) was reluctant to proceed to the start and had to be assisted by a handler, causing a delay. Thereafter, on arrival at the start, DEFINING MOMENT (G Wright) was fractious, refused to load and was withdrawn. This filly is suspended indefinitely in terms of Rule 93.2.4 until such time as she proves tractable proceeding to the start on a race day. b) In view of the report from the starter regarding DEFINING MOMENT (G Wright), this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 04/12/2022 to 10/12/2022 inclusive). DEFINING MOMENT may not be presented for re-passing during this period. c) Leaving the 350m VIRGINIA SWEET (J Gates) was bumped outwards and then had to be steadied away from the heels of ACADEMIC GOLD (G van Niekerk) at the 300m. An Inquiry will be opened into this incident. d) Leaving the 300m ROCKIE REEF (J Jacobs) was awkwardly placed between SILVERLINKS (M Yeni) and SHE'S A RAINBOW (L Mxothwa), which rolled out slightly. e) Leaving the 100m EVENING PRIMROSE (K de Melo) was carried inwards by ACADEMIC GOLD (G van Niekerk), which rolled in under pressure. f) EVENING PRIMROSE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G van Zyl was advised.
