THE STARTER REPORTED: a) INDUS KNIGHT (*K A Brewer) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In the concluding stages, TWIN TURBO (K Matsunyane), which had come to the end of its run, was brushed inwards by DUKE OF RAIN (S Khumalo), which was directed inwards to avoid the heels of BILLY SPELLBOUND (C Habib), which rolled in marginally and was corrected. b) At approximately the 300m, Apprentice P Mxoli (SOUTHERN BLAZE) briefly lost his footing to the left-side stirrup iron. c) Jockey N Klink reported that he felt something amiss with DEFINITELY MAYBE in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Jockey R Munger reported that he felt something amiss with BRENDEN JAMES in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) EYE OF THE PROPHET (*R A Venniker), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P F Matchett advised (AH). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) INDUS KNIGHT was ridden by Apprentice K A Brewer (declared 8 December 2022 at 08H49). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None.
