THE STARTER REPORTED: a) YOU KNOW WHO (C Maujean) and MOUNT ANDERSON (L Mxothwa) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The start of this race was delayed due to the delay in the previous race. b) At the 200m BUSH TRACKER (Y Ramzan) had to be steadied momentarily when awkwardly placed on the outside of YOU KNOW WHO (C Maujean). c) In the concluding stages GRAZINGINTHEGRASS (R Fourie) was carried out and became awkwardly placed on the outside of FERRARI ICE (M Yeni), which rolled out under pressure. After reviewing the patrol film, the Stewards were satisfied that this incident had happened close to the finish line and considering the distance of 0.5 lengths between the two horses, took no further action. d) Jockey M Yeni was charged with a contravention of Rule 56.4.1.3 in that he failed to proceed to the parade ring immediately after being instructed to do so by the Clerk of Scales. Jockey M Yeni signed an admission of guilt and was fined R250.00. e) FERRARI ICE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith was advised (LM).
