THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DISTINCTION (C Habib) was restless in the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The start of this race was delayed due to the thirty-minute interval between races. b) At the 400m PACIFIC GREEN (R Fourie) was held up for a clear run, was directed inwards and then had to be steadied away from the heels of VIVACIOUS SPIRIT (K Matsunyane). Thereafter, PACIFIC GREEN (R Fourie) was unable to secure clear running until leaving the 300m. c) In view of the performance of VIVACIOUS SPIRIT (K Matsunyane) the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Trainer JA Janse van Vuuren was charged with a contravention of Rule 39.7.5 in that he failed to vaccinate VIVACIOUS SPIRIT against Equine Influenza in accordance with the program of vaccinations as published from time to time in the Racing Calendar. Trainer M Rix, acting on behalf of Trainer JA Janse van Vuuren, signed an Admission of Guilt and Trainer JA Janse van Vuuren was fined R1000.00. e) LIVE MY LIFE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
