THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BIG FIVE (J P van der Merwe) was slow losing many lengths. The starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. Trainer J S Roux was advised (BN). THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, MIDNIGHT CRYSTAL (C Habib), was bumped inwards by JUST PROCCIE (C Maujean), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) In view of the Starter's report with regard to BIG FIVE, this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable jumping with a companion on a race day. Suspension dates: 14 December 2022 to 26 December 2022. BIG FIVE may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer J S Roux was advised. c) MIDNIGHT CRYSTAL (C Habib), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S G Tarry advised (SM). JOCKEY CHANGES: None.
