THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DESOLATE ROAD (*M Katjedi) was restless in the stalls and lost two lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Approaching the 300m, MR GONZALES (T Godden) was baulked and thereafter switched in to obtain a clear run. Thereafter, MR GONZALES (T Godden) shifted out away from the crop between the 200m and 150m. b) PASSAGE OF POWER (J Gates) shifted out early in the straight. c) In view of the performances of AJ'S CAPTAIN (A Mgudlwa), (10.85 lengths, betting 33/1), and DESOLATE ROAD (*M Katjedi) (5.15 lengths, betting 5/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) Jockey R Khathi reported that he felt something amiss with HIS CHOICE in the running.
