THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GREGOR MACGREGOR (C Habib), VENGEANCE FOREVER (R Simons) and RARATONGA ROSE (K de Melo) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) FORGED BY FIRE (R Munger) and GOLDEN TUNE (J R Syster) were slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, GOLDEN TUNE (J R Syster) was squeezed out between GREGOR MACGREGOR (C Habib), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls, and FORGED BY FIRE (R Munger), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) Jockey K Matsunyane reported that he felt something amiss with LADY REGENT in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) Jockey S Khumalo reported that he felt something amiss with MIRREN in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. d) RARATONGA ROSE (K de Melo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M N Houdalakis advised (MS).
