THE STARTER REPORTED: a) I'M IN LOVE (J Mphanya) was stubborn loading and slow into stride. b) MONTANA NYMPH (E Webber) was stubborn loading. c) ZAYHAAN (C Maujean) was nervous in the stalls and slow into stride. d) HAZY CRAZY NIGHT (R Fourie) jumped slow, losing one length. e) ST PATRICK'S DAY (*J Solomons) and MERCURIAL JET (X Ndlovu) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) MISS UNITED STATES (D Ashby) proved difficult to settle in the early and middle stages. b) Jockey X Ndlovu reported that MERCURIAL JET did not stride out freely in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) Jockey JP van der Merwe reported that ALYESKA felt uncomfortable in its action and he did not persevere with his riding in the straight.
