THE STARTER REPORTED: a) The tongue tie on CAPE PRINCESS (JP van der Merwe) was re-fitted at the start. b) STATE OF MIND (D Ashby) was unruly in the stalls and rushed the front gates. c) DIVINE DYNASTY (T Gould) kicked the back gates in the starting stalls. d) PANZANELLA (C Maujean), MRS HOTLINE (R Fourie) and LADY OF GOLD (S Khathi) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start LADY OF GOLD (S Khathi) was steadied off the heels of DEMIGOD (S Khumalo). b) SULTANAH (*J Solomons) over raced, proved difficult to settle and as a consequence, raced clear of the field in the early and middle stages. c) Leaving the 200m DIVINE DYNASTY (T Gould) was carried out by STATE OF MIND (D Ashby) which shifted out sharply and was immediately straightened. d) Jockey E Webber was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking TO THE MAX more than 12 times in the entire race. Jockey Webber signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1000,00. In determining penalty, the Board took into account the distance over and manner in which Jockey Webber used his crop and the number of strikes (13) over the permissible level. e) Jockey Y Ramzan was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking MEENEERA more than 12 times in the entire race. Jockey Ramzan signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1500,00. In determining penalty, the Board took into account the distance over and manner in which Jockey Ramzan used his crop and the number of strikes (14) over the permissible level. f) DEMIGOD, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith was advised (LM). g) SAINT ANASTASIA, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer JP Nel was advised (LM).
