THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PAM'S PRINCESS (C Maujean) was nervous in the stalls. b) GOLIGHTLY (S Khathi) was restless in the stalls and jumped slow, losing two lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey K Minnie (PRINCESS KALISI) briefly dropped his right-side rein shortly before the finish. b) Jockey L Mxothwa was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.3 in that he failed to ride WINGS OF FIRE out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stewards. Jockey Mxothwa signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000.00. In determining penalty, the Stewards were satisfied that Jockey Mxothwa's actions had not prejudiced his chances of obtaining first place. c) TWICE TO HEAVEN, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SB Kotzen was advised (LM).
