THE STARTER REPORTED: a) REACH FOR THE STARS (S Moodley), UNSOLVED RIDDLE (*D Geerthsen), CAPTAIN ROCKET (S Veale) and HOLLYWOOD STAR (J Gates) lost one length. b) NOBLE FELLA (A Arries) jumped awkwardly and lost two lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) NOBLE FELLA (A Arries) failed to muster speed and raced detached throughout. b) Approaching the 200m, ROY'S JULY MAGIC (K Matsunyane), which was hanging out from the 300m, rolled out. Thereafter, a tiring MCCARTNEY (K de Melo), which was racing between ROY'S JULY MAGIC (K Matsunyane) and BUSTER KEATON (R Khathi) was eased momentarily off the heels of BUSTER KEATON (R Khathi), which was hanging in from the 350m, shifted in sharply and was immediately corrected. c) Jockey K de Melo reported that MCCARTNEY made an abnormal respiratory noise in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) BUSTER KEATON (R Khathi), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer B Forster acting on behalf of Trainer A Nel was advised (NS). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) CREATOR raced with a tongue tie (advised 15.12.2022 / 10h00). b) MCCARTNEY raced without blinkers (advised 19.12.2022 / 07h33).
