THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CASINO GAIL (J P van der Merwe) was restless in the stalls. Trainer A G Laird was advised to reschool this filly prior to her next engagement (JB). b) CILANTRO (B Nyawo) was restless in the stalls. Trainer F P Habib was advised to reschool this filly prior to her next engagement (JB). c) TSITSIKAMMA PEARL (*M K Katjedi), HAPPY VIBES (*G Pieterse) and HEART OF ETERNITY (K Matsunyane) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. d) GREGARIOUS GAL (D De Gouveia) was slow losing two lengths. e) CILANTRO (B Nyawo) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) As the start was effected, FIZZANTE (M Yeni) was buffeted between CASINO GAIL (J P van der Merwe) and TSITSIKAMMA PEARL (*M K Katjedi), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) HEART OF ETERNITY (K Matsunyane) hung out from the 300m. In view of this performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) Apprentice P Mxoli reported IRISH EMPIRE took a number of awkward strides in the final 200m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Jockey J P van der Merwe reported that he felt something amiss with CASINO GAIL in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) SPLENDID SEASON (M van Rensburg), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
