THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DIESEL AND DUST (R Simons) refused to load. The starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. Trainer P F Matchett was advised (PhvdW). THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, KAPTEIN (K de Melo), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls, became unbalanced and had its hindquarters turned inwards when making contact with KOTINOS (M Yeni). b) Jockey M Yeni reported that KOTINOS did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) In view of the Starter's report with regard to DIESEL AND DUST, this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading with a companion. Suspension dates: 21 December 2022 to 27 December 2022. DIESEL AND DUST may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer P F Matchett was advised. d) FLASHY APACHE (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer T Zackey advised (MduP). e) SHARE HOLDER (AUS) (M van Rensburg), unplaced, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
