THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO THE DELAY IN THE PREVIOUS RACE. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PRAIRIE FALCON (*P Mxoli) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) TWICE AS WILD (N Klink) over-raced early stages. b) Jockey J R Syster reported that he felt something amiss with MISS TANGO in running and eased this filly out of the race at the 350m. As a consequence of this, SPEECHMAKER (M van Rensburg) and TWICE AS WILD (N Klink) were steadied and directed outwards to avoid MISS TANGO (J R Syster). c) Apprentice P Mxoli was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.3 in that he failed to ride the horse PRAIRIE FALCON out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards. Apprentice P Mxoli signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1,000.00. d) QUANTUM (R Simons), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A G Laird advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) QUE CEU AZUL raced with a tongue tie on (declared 19 December 2022 at 13H37). b) WHATYOUWAITINGFOR new ownership: Mrs J P Gardner, Messrs B G Gardner, M A Currie, Kenny Govender, A Lahoud, Jarryd Lahoud, C J Millar, Larry Pogir and Sean Tarry Racing (Pty) Ltd, colours: Green and black checks, checked sleeves, halved cap (Sold with engagement).
