Apprentice Dicken has ridden his 20th winner and now claims a 2.5kg allowance. Work rid Ndlovu (medically indisposed - back spasm) and Jockey Bantam (medically indisposed - flu) and Jockey Munger (medically indisposed - flu) did not ride at today's race meeting. They were replaced on their mounts. A clearance certificate from the Mauritius Turf Club was submitted prior to Jockey de Gouveia's first ride. WINTERWIND broke through the front gate, was restrained by the rider, returned to the start, inspected by the Veterinary surgeon, declared fit to race and reloaded. During the loading process FLAMING DUCHESS kicked the back gate hard, resulting in WINTERWIND becoming restless and breaking open the front gate of its stall. WINTERWIND was restrained by its rider, returned to the start, inspected by the Veterinary Surgeon, declared fit to race and reloaded. Trainer Tarry was advised to re-school this filly before its next engagement. AT FIRST LIGHT was slow, losing 2 lengths. EVOKE was slow into stride. Work rider Ngcobo reported that the saddle on FLOWER SEASON slipped back in running, which was confirmed by a member of the Stipendiary Board. FLAMING DUCHESS was hanging out from the 400m. Work rider Matsoele reported that NAZARETH was coughing in running. In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning NAZARETH, this filly is suspended from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority for a period of 60 days. MISS LEXI was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. AIRDASH raced equipped with a Cornell collar. Vet: TARLAND - coughing. NAZARETH - coughing; bilateral Epistaxis. Recommended 60 days' suspension. WINTERWIND - blowing; fatigued. Scratched: AKOYA PEARL - abnormal temperature. CONSOL QUEEN - insufficient recovery time.
