THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) SET TO GO (M Yeni) jumped inwards leaving the stalls.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) At approximately the 400m, SMITH AND WESSON (*M K Katjedi) was switched in sharply to continue its run.
b) BOISTEROUS (R Munger) commenced to give ground to the field from the 300m, thereafter Jockey Munger reported that BOISTEROUS took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
c) Jockey S Khumalo did not persevere with his riding from the 300m, and thereafter reported that he felt something amiss with HERECOMESTHERAIN in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
Trainer C J Lensley was requested to report back to the Board on the condition of this gelding on return to stables.
d) Jockey K de Melo reported that he felt something amiss with REMEMBER WHEN in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
e) Jockey M Yeni reported that SET TO GO did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
f) In the concluding stages, RETALLICK (B Nyawo) was brushed in by MERCANTOUR (*S Sosibo) which rolled in.
g) FLOWERBOMB (M van Rensburg), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Spies advised (MS).
JOCKEY CHANGES:
a) RETALLICK was ridden by Jockey B Nyawo.
RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER:
a) REMEMBER WHEN raced with earmuffs on (declared 21 December 2022 at 10H11).
b) SET TO GO raced with a tongue tie on (declared 22 December 2022 at 14H53).
c) BOISTEROUS raced with club colours (black and blue) Stewards permission.

a) HERECOMESTHERAIN examined post race, nothing obvious detected. Veterinary certificate required prior to racing (Rule 49.7 applies). Trainer C J Lensley advised (NHA).
