THE STARTER REPORTED: a) During the loading process, TRAIL BREAKER (N Klink) rushed the front gates, resulting in TURNTHEBEATAROUND (J P van der Merwe) becoming restless, breaking through and bolting the course. TURNTHEBEATAROUND was subsequently scratched by the Course Veterinary Surgeon. Thereafter TRAIL BREAKER became unruly in the stalls which resulted in COFFEE IN BRAZIL (J Penny) and WILD FOREVER (*K A Brewer) breaking through the front of the stalls. The Starting Stall Certificate for TRAIL BREAKER has been withdrawn. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In view of the Starter's report with regard to TRAIL BREAKER, this filly has been suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as she proves tractable loading and jumping on terms with a companion. Suspension dates: 28 December 2022 to 3 January 2023. TRIAL BREAKER may not be presented for repassing during this period. Trainer C Dawson advised (LAS). b) POMOZELOUS (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis (RS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) PONDEROSA PINE raced without blinkers (declared 27 December 2022 at 08H27). b) BROADLANDS raced with a tongue tie on (declared 23 December 2022 at 08H19). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) PUNTA ALTA blowing. b) RAGSAA brush wound left hind and mouth injury. SCRATCHED: a) SOLO DIVA cast in box (Trainer) (Rule 53.5 applies). b) TURNTHEBEATAROUND bolted the course, immediate reinstatement (NHA / 14H12) Betting 6/1. c) TRAIL BREAKER injured mouth in stalls (NHA / 14H14) Rule 53.5 applies.
